For the last couple of months Grade Tech Power Services has been helping Rad Canyon BMX build the indoor track for their races at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park and Event Center in South Jordan Utah. Rad Canyon BMX builds a track for the kids to race on every other weekend throughout the winter. Grade Tech Power Services has donated many hours of labor and equipment to help make this event happen. It takes about 12 hours to build the track. Grade Tech Power Services and Rad Canyon BMX come in with loaders, bobcats, specialized equipment, and volunteers to operate the equipment, groom, shovel and rack the track. The participants, young and old, race on it for 3 days and then it takes about 4 hours to break it down to the equestrian riding center it needs to be throughout the week.
Rad Canyon BMX
Rad Canyon has been around for 26 years. They are a Not-For-Profit Organization built on a community of volunteers that love what they do! It’s one of the few sports that an entire family can participate in together. It’s important for us at Grade Tech Services to give back to the community.
Getting Involved
We got involved with Rad Canyon initially because the Co-Owner of the Company, Rory Hall has two kids that are involved in the sport. He noticed that Rad Canyon could use some help building the track, and there’s one thing that Grade Tech is good at…moving dirt! There’s a lot of gratification for Grade Tech employees when they build the track, and when they see the hundreds of kids and adults that come out to race and enjoy the track as a family.
