Grade Tech Power Services provides the civil construction scope for new substations, expansions and upgrades. Our work includes site preparation, excavation and backfill, drainage, access roads, yard finishes and foundation removal.
Our substation scope includes:
- Clearing and grubbing
- Cut and fill
- Erosion and dust controls (SWPPP)
- Riprap
- Perimeter drainage and culverts
- Foundation and cable-trench excavation and backfill
- Lined oil-containment berms
- Access roads and imported yard material
- Construction staking and layout
Selected project experience:
- Aeolus Substation Expansion, Medicine Bow, WY: earthwork and civil construction for a 525 kV line position and 230 kV expansion
- Anticline Substation Expansion, Rock Springs, WY: brownfield expansion including a 525 kV addition and yard expansion
- Coyote and Little Snake Substations, near Vernal, UT and northern Colorado: two new 525 kV substation sites
- Oquirrh to Terminal, Utah: storage yard, walls and fencing, stormwater systems and street improvements
