Description
Location: Grantsville, UT
Project Duration: 3 months
Project Type: Existing Substation Expansion
Scope of Work: Expand the substation to accommodate a new bay position for a renewable energy solar tie line
Unique Problem:
Anytime a new pad is installed, it is crucial that it provides a solid foundation that will sufficiently support the weight of the load it will hold. Installing a new pad at this substation was a challenge because the existing structure was built on soft, muddy, swamp-like clays and soils at the edge of the Great Salt Lake. Our experienced personnel worked with a team of engineers to develop a special installation process to ensure the pad would be solid, eliminating the risk of soft spots, sinking foundations, or leaning towers.
