Friday, June 10, 2022 – We are proud to announce that we are sponsoring and participating in the 12th Annual Doc Weaver & Mike Kibbie University of Utah Burn Camp Charity Golf Scramble today at The Old Mill public golf course in Holladay. Grade Tech is sponsoring a hole, giving away raffle prizes— Yeti coolers, hats, gift cards and fillers—and has entered a foursome in the tournament.
Brad Richardson explained that Grade Tech was invited to participate in the annual fund raising event by Sturgeon Electric, and that he is happy to be able to help the cause. “Safety is close to our hearts at Grade Tech, and we know how tragic it can be when accidents happen on the job,” he said. “Burn recovery can be long and excruciating, so programs like the burn camp are very important. And we know this cause is super close to Sturgeon’s heart, so we are more than happy to support it.” Rory also said that this is the first year that Grade Tech is sponsoring the tournament, but it won’t be the last. “We plan to be back next year!”
Established in 1993, The University of Utah Health Burn Camp Program supports burn survivors with the personal challenges associated with surviving a burn injury. The camp has five different programs geared toward specific age groups—ranging from children ages 4 years and up to adolescents and adults—providing a safe and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved.
The “Doc & Mike” Charity Golf Scramble honors two great Utahans, Doc Weaver and Mike Kibbie, who were both devoted to supporting the Burn Camp. Over the past six years, the tournament has raised more than $67,000 to help fund the program.
We urge all Utahans to join the cause and support the Burn Camp and the great work they do!
