Grade Tech is proud to welcome Brad Richardson, Project Manager/Estimator, to the team. With more than 13 years in the business, he is highly experienced in managing projects for the electric utility industry.

“We are thrilled to have Brad on the Grade Tech team,” said Rory Hall, COO and co-founder of Grade Tech, “With his knowledge and experience in power industry projects he will be a great asset to us and fits right in with our team.”

Brad got his start in the business world back in 2005. Planning to one day own his own construction company, he began building homes with his brother-in-law. While developing a property with his brother-in-law’s company, Brad caught the attention of the owner of an excavating company that was installing the sewer and storm drains. That owner recognized Brad’s work ethic and offered him a job on the spot – at double the pay he was making.

Brad worked for that excavating company for a year and then pursued his Business Management degree and became involved in Project Management at Rocky Mountain Power where he worked for 10 years.

Brad explains that he welcomes the opportunity to return to a smaller company like Grade Tech. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with a company that values and rewards hard work,” he said. “I like the direction this company is going and I look forward to being part of its success.”

A lifelong Utah resident, Brad grew up in West Jordan. His Dad taught him the value of hard work on the family farm, and he learned the importance of teamwork through the many sports he played throughout his childhood and into his high school years.

These days, Brad’s goal is to demonstrate the value of hard work and quality – and how that work ethic can lead to a good living – to his four sons. He focuses on finding creative, out-of-the-box solutions to solve the issues that arise on the job and always strives to work collaboratively with the project team to provide the best possible service to his customers.

Brad believes that success comes from hard work, motivation and creativity – and that those actions bring about good luck. “It really takes creativity to think outside the box and help others recognize what needs to be done,” he explains. “It also takes a little bit of luck. I am a true believer in the old saying, ‘Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.’ There is no substitute for hard work and preparation.”

When he’s not at work, Brad enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, hunting, backpacking, fishing, shooting, riding ATVs in the mountains and at the sand dunes, golfing, scuba diving, waterskiing and snow skiing. He is also into kickboxing and weightlifting, and enjoys spending some quiet time at the beach or deep in the woods. In addition to his many hobbies, he is committed to serving his community and spends time on charitable projects.
