At Grade Tech, we take immense pride in recognizing and celebrating the milestones of our dedicated team members. Today, we are excited to mark a special occasion as Luke Phelps celebrates his three-year anniversary with us. To commemorate employees’ work anniversaries, Grade Tech donates $1,000 to the employee’s charity of choice.

Luke’s journey with Grade Tech has been marked by exceptional commitment and excellence, and as part of our company’s giving program, he has chosen to honor this milestone in a meaningful way.

Luke has made the heartfelt decision to contribute to the Children and the Earth Foundation, a local nonprofit organization that provides vital support to children with special needs, rare diseases, and other serious illnesses. This cause is deeply personal for Luke, as he has a son who requires ongoing care. By directing his donation to this foundation, Luke aims to assist other families navigating similar challenges, offering them hope and support during difficult times.

“Our family relates to the cause Children and the Earth aims to reprieve,” Luke said. “Helping those navigate these challenging circumstances that hit so close to home means the world to me.”

The mission of Children and the Earth, Inc. is centered around providing crucial support to children who are battling life-threatening or terminal illnesses, such as cancer, as well as those with special needs and rare diseases. Recognizing the profound impact these conditions have on both the children and their families, the organization focuses on alleviating the emotional and financial burdens they face. Through various initiatives, Children and the Earth, Inc. strives to enhance the quality of life for these young individuals by offering them moments of joy and relief during their challenging journeys.

One of the primary ways Children and the Earth, Inc. supports these children is by creating unforgettable experiences that allow them and their families to make cherished memories together. This can include fulfilling the bucket list wishes of terminally ill children, such as arranging dream vacations, meeting their favorite celebrities, or providing unique experiences that they have always dreamed of. These moments not only bring happiness to the children but also offer their families a sense of togetherness and hope, creating lasting memories that they can hold onto forever.

In addition to creating memorable experiences, Children and the Earth, Inc. is also dedicated to easing the financial strain that often accompanies serious medical conditions. The organization helps cover medical expenses, offers assistance with transportation to and from medical appointments, and even provides home modifications to make living spaces more accessible for children with mobility challenges. By addressing these practical needs, Children and the Earth, Inc. ensures that families can focus more on caring for their loved ones and less on the financial pressures that can be overwhelming during such difficult times.

Through its comprehensive approach to supporting children and their families, Children and the Earth, Inc. demonstrates a deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in their lives. The organization understands that facing a severe illness or condition is a daunting journey, and it seeks to be a constant source of support and compassion. By providing both emotional and practical assistance, Children and the Earth, Inc. helps families navigate their challenges with dignity and grace, ensuring that no one has to face their battles alone.

Luke Phelps is a dedicated truck driver at Grade Tech who joined our team in 2021 after a chance meeting with Rory Hall at Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. Rory’s connection with Luke’s father, Jim, a master electrician, piqued Luke’s interest in Grade Tech. Although not initially seeking a new job, Luke found that Grade Tech was a perfect fit for him.

A lifelong Utah resident from American Fork, Luke has deep roots in Utah County. With over two decades in the excavating industry, he transitioned from laborer to truck driver and has also worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. After running a towing company, he returned to construction to spend more time with his family. Luke enjoys the variety that driving for Grade Tech offers, from long hauls to short trips, and appreciates the opportunity to see new things and experience different sights.

Luke values continuous learning and growth, believing that success comes from mastering multiple skills and staying persistent through both highs and lows. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, camping, and attending concerts with his family. At Grade Tech, we celebrate team members like Luke, whose dedication and passion contribute significantly to our company’s success.

At Grade Tech, we celebrate Luke’s generous gesture and commend his dedication to giving back to the community. We are honored to support his efforts in helping those who face significant challenges, reinforcing our commitment to making a difference both within and beyond our company.
