Staff Accountant
Location: Sandy, Utah
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP) Management
- Oversee the complete AP cycle, including setting up new vendors, coding invoices, managing approval workflows, and scheduling payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and proactively resolve billing discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage the main accounting inbox, ensuring invoices and inquiries are organized and routed to the correct teams.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process weekly payroll accurately ensuring compliance with all labor and tax regulations.
- Reconcile payroll provider reports to the General Ledger.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll questions, including pay stubs, tax withholdings, deductions, garnishments, and child support.
- Assist with tracking and reporting benefit-related payroll deductions.
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Assist with the month-end close process.
- Manage corporate credit card expenses, ensuring expenses are coded properly and receipts are attached.
- Support general financial reporting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree in accounting, or currently working toward an accounting degree.
- 1+ years of experience in an office or staff accounting role.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- High attention to detail and ability to spot errors in large sets of data.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines, especially during month-end.
Preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Viewpoint Spectrum.
- Practical experience running payroll.
- Background in construction or job-cost accounting.
